Tennessee Representative Andy Ogles:
Sending Criminal College Protestors to Gaza

In a move that has stirred considerable debate and controversy, Republican Congressman Andy Ogles has introduced a bill proposing to send college protestors who engage in illegal acts to Gaza. While the idea may sound extreme at first glance, it raises important questions about the nature of protests, education, and accountability.

According to sources like the Daily Dot and The National Desk, Ogles’ bill targets protestors specifically related to the Israel-Palestine conflict, particularly those on college campuses. The rationale behind this move appears to be to educate protestors about the realities of the protest by sending them to Gaza, a region deeply affected by the ongoing conflict.

Critics have slammed the bill, labeling it as extreme and impractical. Some have even gone as far as calling it a “clown show,” as reported by Meaww and the Washington Examiner. They argue that sending protestors to a conflict zone is not only dangerous but also does not address the root causes of their grievances.

However, amidst the criticism, there is an interesting aspect to consider. Ogles’ bill highlights the issue of protestors potentially lacking adequate understanding of the subjects they are protesting about. As there are instances where protestors, when questioned, struggle to articulate their reasons for protesting or lack sufficient knowledge about the complexities of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

While sending protestors to Gaza may not be a feasible or done that would make it through Senate for that matter, it does underscore the importance of education and informed activism. If students are to be protesting, #1 it should be happening legally, we have the right to assemble PEACEFULLY. #2 Student’s should have a clearer understanding about what they are protesting for. Some students when interviewed had absolutely no idea why they were even there protesting. This shows the power of suggestion.

And people do not realize the severity of protesting for something you don’t understand. You must be educated on topics before throwing yourself  into a crowd and shouting “Death to America!” At least know why you’re shouting. It may sound extreme, but perhaps these students will be better prepared and informed if a bill like this were to be put in place. It just opens up the door for the other side to potentially do this to Republican protestors in the future. And for that we may need to tread lightly. Especially before the November election. The left is starting to turn on Joe due to his foreign policy regarding Palestine. We should let these protestors continue to rally against him. Every vote that Joe Biden loses is a vote for the right.

While Andy Ogles’ bill may raise eyebrows for its unconventional approach, it does shine a light on the need for better education and awareness among protestors. However, the solution proposed by the bill seems far-fetched and unlikely to pass. As discussions around the bill continue, it is crucial to remember the reason we are all fighting, our election in November. That is the most important date this year and Republicans need to think and re-think every action and the implication of them in order to gain as many voters to our side as possible.
