Cocktail Recipe: Federalist Flair

Federalist Flair
Ingredients
- 2 oz bourbon whiskey
- 1/2 oz apricot liqueur
- 1/2 oz cinnamon syrup (recipe below)
- 1/4 oz fresh ginger juice
- 1/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Apricot slice and cinnamon stick, for garnish
- Ice cubes
Cinnamon Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3-4 cinnamon sticks
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Strain the syrup to remove the cinnamon sticks and store in a clean bottle.
- Fill a shaker with ice.
- Add bourbon whiskey, apricot liqueur, cinnamon syrup, fresh ginger juice, fresh lime juice, and Angostura bitters.
- Shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosted.
- Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with an apricot slice and a cinnamon stick.
