Trump’s Legacy
Advocating for Vulnerable Communities Amidst Political Turmoil

During a recent livestream event, President Trump delivered a speech that resonated with many, including myself. Despite ongoing attempts to portray him as being in cognitive decline, I found his articulation to be notably sharp and coherent. Trump highlighted several key accomplishments from his time in office, shedding light on initiatives that have often been overlooked or misrepresented.

One such achievement, as pointed out by Trump himself, was the establishment of permanent funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) (source). Prior to his executive order, HBCUs relied on fluctuating sources of funding, creating a precarious financial landscape. President Trump’s commitment to providing stable funding marked a significant step forward in supporting these institutions and the communities they serve.

Additionally, Trump highlighted the Right to Try Act, a bipartisan bill passed in 2018, which allows terminally ill patients access to experimental treatments without FDA approval (source). While some have criticized the act, arguing about the safety of experimental drugs, its implementation offers a ray of hope for those facing terminal illnesses, providing them with potentially life-saving options.

While Trump did not mention it explicitly, his Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support Act of 2019 deserves recognition (source). This legislation allocated $1.8 billion towards autism research and support programs, demonstrating a significant commitment to addressing the needs of individuals and families affected by autism.

Critics often paint Trump as indifferent to the needs of vulnerable populations. However, his actions speak otherwise, as evidenced by his support for HBCUs, terminally ill patients, and individuals with autism. These initiatives underscore a commitment to inclusivity and support for marginalized communities.

Conversely, the current administration’s policies seem to deviate from this path of support and inclusivity. Recent initiatives, such as providing prepaid cash cards to illegal immigrants for housing and food in New York (source), or appointing a non-citizen to serve on an elections commission in San Francisco (source), raise concerns about prioritization and national security.

Moreover, the influx of illegal immigrants, facilitated by questionable policies, poses significant challenges to national security (source). The administration’s actions risk undermining the integrity of our electoral process and eroding public trust.

As citizens, we must remain vigilant and informed. The upcoming elections offer an opportunity to steer the course in a direction that prioritizes the well-being and security of all Americans. Our choices in November will shape the trajectory of our nation, and the
